Christmas Time

Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills

I am not really a fan of the holiday season. Never really get in the holiday mood. I do like the lights though. I like the colorful displays during a normal bland winter season with little color. Trying to capture these displays is exciting and challenging due to the different lighting conditions. The payoff is worth it.

During a recent trip to California we went on Rodeo Drive, they sure show up for the lights display. Here I used a narrow aperture to make the lights look like stars. This is a single shot. I did edit the street name to actually say Rodeo Dr, due to the real name is Dayton on the cross and I am staring down Rodeo Dr. For those who have not visited or familiar there are also many side roads and alleys each with their own displays.

On the bottom image this the train station in downtown Denver Colorado. I waited in the same spot taking multiple images throughout the night to get different lighting conditions. Then mixed them all together using different blend modes.
