Making My Own Frames

How can I combine my two hobbies of Photography and Wood Working? Simple. Make my own frames. This is just a sample frame I made using a nice redwood 1x3 strip. I first cut the rabbet section to hold the mat, print and plexiglass. I then used 15degree bevel to add to the front look. Using a jig I made for my table saw I cut all of the miter joints. I also have a spline jig to cut splines and reinforce the miter joints. To finish it off I sanded it and some protective spray. This is one of the more simple frames I have made and put in a print of mine from a The Wave. The overall frame is 8x10 with a 5x7 print. This was gifted to my grandparents who live up in Oregon.

For my wood design ideas check out this link, I have used it for other ideas from these plans
