The Wave
I am super excited!! I applied for a permit to hike The Wave on the Arizona / Utah border and received one! How lucky am I. People try for years to get approved for one and I was able to get one to hike in May 2021.
The hike is a permit based hike and only 20 advanced permits are given for each day of hiking. It is about 6 miles of hiking in the desert so I wanted to get there in May before it gets too hot. It is $9 to apply for the permit and if you are awarded the random lottery you pay $7/hiker.
I was recently in the same area The Wave is located in where I took the below picture. It is the Historic Navajo Bridge crossing over the Colorado River. The water really is this green too when you see it in person. The river if you follow it a little further east will wrap around the famous Horseshoe Bend
