Last Chance Milky Way

On Friday May 28, 2021 drove about an hour east to the city of Last Chance in Colorado’s eastern plains. This town is full of abandoned structures and great buildings. Wanting to shoot the Milky Way I was worried with the skies being so scary and stormy. the weather though said it would clear at night. Arrived just before sunset to set up and get situated. Scout the area. Take some sunset images. Watch the storm move more to the North and North East with quite the lightning show.
As the sun went down I got set up for the Milky Way. I knew I only had less than an hour of dark skies to get a shot. The 92% moon would rise about an hour after the core started to rise. Just before 10pm I took several images with light painting and clean foregrounds. Set up my star tracker and then began taking multiple images of the core.
This is a composite of several images for the foreground. The sky is then tracked using a star tracker with a 3 minute long exposure at 35mm and f/3.5. This is the huge advantage to using a star tracker, no 500 rules apply.
